Evita is one of our talented instructors and lover of movement. She's from Highland, Utah. She feels lucky to have her favorite hobby as her job, which is teaching Pilates! She also loves yoga, lifting weights, dancing and nerding out about anything fitness/nutrition related. She also loves hiking, backpacking, traveling, watching movies and photography.
She remembers doing Pilates and yoga from the time she was ten or twelve years old. Growing up as a dancer, she was drawn to yoga and Pilates as a means of improving her strength, flexibility and balance for dance. After graduating from and performing on various dance companies at BYU, she decided to dedicate more time to yoga and pilates in order to heal some dance related injuries she accrued while dancing in college. She loved yoga and pilates so much that she wanted to share it with everyone! She decided to get certified in both so that she could help others physically, mentally, and emotionally through these modalities.
Some fun facts about Evita: she's half Peruvian and travels to Peru at least twice a year. She got her BA in Art History and a minor in Contemporary Dance from BYU. She's certified in YTT 200, Stott Pilates in Reformer and Mat Pilates. She's done her trainings in Stott Pilates Chair, Injuries & Special Populations, Pre/post Natal and Progressing Ballet Technique.
Evita loves programming a full body class that mixes heavy loads with light loads. She loves firing up the deep abdominal muscles by challenging balance and stability. She loves stability work because it’s so important for joint health and injury prevention. Her music playlist changes depending on the class, mood, and weather. Normally, she keeps her playlists pretty chill so that people can tune into their bodies and create the mind-body connection during class. Although, she does enjoy some fun dance and latin music every so often. Join Evita on her amazing Reformer Pilates and Hot Pilates classes.
